Industrial Application and Downstream Products of Hydrazine Hydrate

1. Synthetic pesticides

Pesticide is the largest application market of hydrazine hydrate. There are nearly 1000 kinds of hydrazine street creatures used as pesticides, such as fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, rodenticides, defoliants and plant growth regulators, of which 30-40 have been industrialized.

2. Synthetic foaming agent

Foaming agent production is the second largest market for hydrazine hydrate. With the development of plastic industry, the demand is increasing. Hydrazine and its derivatives decompose into a large amount of N and other gases when heated. Among all foaming agents, hydrazine based foaming agents account for about 97%. The main hydrazine based foaming agents are azodicarbonamide (ADC), azodiisobutyronitrile, benzene sulfonyl hydrazine (BSH), p-toluenesulfonyl hydrazine (TSH) and 4,4 '- oxo diphenylsulfonyl hydrazine (OBSH). At present, Haihong Chemical Co., Ltd. is using this raw material to produce azodicarbonamide (ADC) foaming agent.

3. Production of water treatment agent

Hydrazine hydrate used in the production of water treatment agent is the third largest application market and is expanding. Dissolved oxygen in boiler, hot water circulation system and oil well water casing is the main cause of corrosion. Hydrazine hydrate is used as Deaerator in these systems.

Because only hydrazine hydrate acts in the production of downstream products, hydrazine can be used to replace hydrazine hydrate to produce downstream products of hydrazine hydrate. However, hydrazine is too dangerous, and the safety cost invested in production, storage, transportation and use is too high, which is not as safe, reliable, economical and practical as hydrazine hydrate. At present, there is no enterprise that directly uses hydrazine as raw material to produce hydrazine hydrate downstream products.
