From January to April, the value added of the chemical industry increased by 3.5% year-on-year
The data released by the National Development and Reform Commission on May 31 showed that in April, the value-added of the chemical industry increased by 4.8% year-on-year, and the growth rate increased by 0.7 percentage points year-on-year. Among the major chemical products, ethylene production increased 1.9% year-on-year, production of primary forms of plastics, synthetic rubber, and synthetic fibers increased by 6.6%, 12.1%, and 8.6%, production of caustic soda decreased by 4%, output of soda ash decreased by 0.2%, and output of chemical fertilizers decreased by 3. %, of which nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer, and potassium fertilizer decreased by 0.7%, 8.1%, and 2.3%, respectively; pesticide production decreased by 12.3%; rubber tire output increased by 1.3%; calcium carbide production decreased by 0.1%.
From January to April, the added value of the chemical industry increased by 3.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate decreased by 1.7 percentage points year-on-year. Among the main products, ethylene production was 6.12 million tons, an increase of 0.2%. The primary form of plastic production was 27.99 million tons, an increase of 4.7%; the synthetic rubber production was 1.8 million tons, an increase of 8.4%; the synthetic fiber output was 13.8 million tons, an increase of 4.4%. The output of caustic soda was 11.53 million tons, a decrease of 1.2%; the output of soda ash was 8.42 million tons, an increase of 3.1%. Fertilizer production was 18.26 million tons, a decrease of 9.5%; among them, nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer, and potassium fertilizer decreased by 9.4%, 7.9%, and 11.6%, respectively. The output of pesticides was 890,000 tons, down 11.1%. The output of rubber tire tires was 286.5 million, an increase of 0.1%. The output of calcium carbide was 8.46 million tons, an increase of 0.9%.
Of the chemical products that were monitored, the price of some products rose over the previous month. In April, the average price of caustic soda (caproline) was 4,460 yuan/ton, which was 8.6% lower than the previous month, up 35.2% year-on-year; and soda ash 1,980 yuan/ton, up 7.6% from the previous month and up 4.8% year-on-year. Urea was 1,940 yuan/ton, up 1.6% from the previous month and up 26.8% year-on-year; domestic diammonium phosphate was 2,640 yuan/ton, down by 2.2% from the previous month and up by 9.1% year-on-year. Calcium carbide was 2,870 yuan per ton, up 2.9% from the previous month and up 13% year-on-year.
