China's May Chemical Raw Materials and Products Prices Up 7.7% YoY

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on the May 2018 Industrial Producer Price Index (PPI) in May 2018, the PPI rose by 0.4% month-on-month and by 4.1% year-on-year. Among them, the ex-factory prices of chemical raw materials and chemical products rose by 0.5% month-on-month and 7.7% year-on-year.

The data shows that in May 2018, the ex-factory prices of industrial producers nationwide rose by 4.1% year-on-year and rose by 0.4% from the previous month. The purchase price of industrial producers rose by 4.3% year-on-year and rose by 0.3% from the previous month. From January to May, the ex-factory price of industrial producers rose by 3.7% over the same period of last year, and the purchase price of industrial producers increased by 4.2%.
